como pelos, sudor, uñas, saliva, mucosidades, deberían participar, en caso de que hubieran existido, de la naturaleza soberana de mi augusta persona y habrían sido amorosamente conservadas por mis servidores y súbditos más fieles y próximos en calidad de emblemas o signos de mi invicto poder: pero, como no hallamos mención de dichas prendas en los anales de la Historia, debemos concluir, consensu omnium, nemine discrepante, que nunca existieron y mi excelsa persona y la de los miembros de su familia no se hallan sometidos a las necesidades animales que afligen al común de los hombres y les obligan a encogerse de vergüenza en el acto de restituir a la tierra, de forma tan ruin e inmunda, lo que recibieron de ella en figura de manjares sabrosos y bebidas tónicas, refinadas, suaves: pues ahí es donde la hipótesis igualitaria descubre la hilaza y revela su maligna absurdidad: sabido es que en un punto animales y humanos son netamente inferiores a plantas y árboles: en que las superfluidades de éstos son deleitosas y amenas mientras que las de los bípedos y cuadrúpedos son nauseabundas y abominables: y si los primeros nos satisfacen y atraen con el aroma y sabor de sus persona es cualitativamente inferior a las meras especies vegetales?: un niño de teta rechazaría indignado tal desatino!: claro está que algún presuntuoso demócrata, dándoselas de listo, se arriesgará a preguntar: Sus Majestades Graciosas, no comen?: periódicos, revistas y actualidades nos enseñan lo contrario: entonces, díganos: qué se hace de los manjares que su regia persona consume si no los evacúa?: ah, petimetres marisabidillos, ahí mismo os quería llevar!: pues si el metabolismo del reino vegetal es diverso del de los animales y humanos, qué tiene de sorprendente o extraño que el de vuestro justo y altísimo soberano sea también distinto?: mientras el ojo republicano y plebeyo secreta corrupción e impureza, el de vuestra veterana dinastía exhala armonía y fragancia: el Señor, en Su providencia infinita, ha dispuesto que las criaturas terrestres se alcen, en orden y proporción a sus méritos, de la vida animal y sus secreciones corruptas hasta alcanzar el ideal de los santos y bienaventurados del Paraíso, cuyos residuos, nos dice San Bernardo, se transforman en un líquido grato y suave, parecido al bálsamo de benjuí y la esencia de almizcle: Dios, por medio de su Divina Intercesora, eleva paso a paso a sus criaturas al estadio superior y odorífero, y, en recompensa a los servicios prestados por nuestra santa y devota familia, le ha permitido subir un peldaño más de la empinada escalera que conduce del hedor al perfume, del cuadrúpedo al ángel y lo ha probado ante el mundo con un sencillo y edificante milagro: el acto de despedir sin zumbido ni furia, de un modo noble y selecto, una variadísima gama de aromas, esencias y bálsamos que, artísticamente presentados en frascos y botellines diseñados por nuestros mejores artistas, pueden ser adquiridos a un precio que desafía toda competencia, en las principales farmacias y droguerías del país: su inimitable y ejemplar calidad les ha granjeado de inmediato el favor del público y ha puesto fin al tradicional
