verdad que hay que poner barro aguado, para que el agua filtre a través del pan y arrastre la miel adherida a los cristales?: pues igual hace el mayoral con vosotros al imponeros tareas humildes e ingratas: para que la color prieta del alma escurra y os aclaréis: y así como la purga del azúcar dura treinta o cuarenta días la del alma puede durar treinta o cuarenta años: pero qué importa ese lapso irrisorio frente a la gloria inmortal que os ofrece el Eterno!: no maldigáis por tanto vuestra suerte ni os desconsoléis: todas esas aflicciones son necesarias al blanqueo cumplido de vuestra alma: un día la sacarán al sol como el pan de azúcar y la pondrán a aventar: entonces vendrá el Mayoral de Allá con el machete y abrirá el pan de un tajo, desde la capa blanca de la base a la parte prieta de la punta: y será como el día del Juicio Final: las almas negras se perderán para siempre, como la azúcar quemada que se bota: son los mascobados y cucuruchos, llenos de suciedades e impurezas, que nadie querría comprar: la parte media del pan, los azúcares quebrados que habrá que purgar y cocer de nuevo hasta que no quede en sus almas vestigio alguno de pecado: y los terrones
