Mr. Juraj Michalko, State Geological Institute of Dionyz Stur, Slovakia, presented the monitoring and assessment of Hungarian-Slovakian transboundary groundwater bodies through the example of a project funded through INTERREG III A. The project, which aimed to establish a uniform geological, hydrogeological and environmental information system, had led to: (a) the preparation of a unify legend for geological maps and the compilation of geological and hydrogeochemical maps; (b) the establishment of a GIS database of hydrogeological and hydrogeochemical information; and (c) the determination and harmonization of background and threshold concentrations.
