In particular, the law provided to extend in first place the sanction of nullity (already envisaged by section 15 of the Worker's Statute (Statuto dei Lavoratori) for discriminatory acts and agreements determined by religious grounds) to any act or agreement aimed at causing a discrimination, founded on personal beliefs, age, sexual orientation and so on. In second place, the law recognised and governed the right of any worker who believes himself/herself to be a victim of a direct and/or indirect discrimination to request that the judge order the cessation of the prejudicial behaviour, in addition to ordering compensation of the non-patrimonial damages suffered.
