According to Section 104 (2) of the Criminal Procedure Law, in order to ensure the rights and interests of a minor he or she is represented in the criminal proceedings by one of the legal representatives of the minor (mother, father, guardian) or one of the grandparents, a brother or sister of legal age, if the minor has lived together with one of such persons and the relevant kinsperson takes care of the minor, a representative of an authority protecting the rights of children, a representative of such non-governmental organisation that performs the function of protecting the rights of children.
