Ce projet a pour objectifs: a) de mettre au point un prototype de nanosatellite; b) de tester une chaîne de télémesure dans la bande radio amateur en utilisant la station RK3DXB de Troïtsk comme centre de commande; c) d'écrire un ouvrage de référence en russe sur les picosatellites; d) de rassembler et de tester des progiciels d'exploitation de picosatellites; e) de tester des prototypes de capteurs qui pourraient être utilisés sur des modèles volants de nanosatellites; f) de présenter les résultats dans des conférences consacrées aux microsatellites; et g) d'obtenir un appui et un financement pour faire voler un modèle de nanosatellite après 2008.
The objectives of the educational programme are (a) to build an electrical prototype of the Northern Lights nanosatellite; (b) to test a telemetry channel in the amateur radio band using the RK3DXB station in Troitsk as the control centre; (c) to write a reference book in Russian about picosatellites; (d) to collect and test a software package to operate picosatellites; (e) to test sensor prototypes that might be used in flight models of nanosatellites; (f) to present the results in conferences devoted to microsatellites; and (g) to find support and funding to carry out work with a flight model of a nanosatellite after 2008.
