A number of provisions have also been introduced in recent years implementing the special Statute of the Trentino-Alto Adige Region. These contain regulations for the protection of the Ladin, Mochena and Cimbrian minorities as listed below:

Most minorities, however - Albanians and Greeks in South Italy, Croats in Molise, Provencals, Friulians and Sardinians, Cimbrians and German and Slovenic speakers in Friaul and Carnia, as well as the Ladins in Belluno province – have been waiting for more than 50 years for the realization of the protection of minorities as provided for by article 6 of the Constitution.
La plupart des minorités, par contre — les Albanais et les Grecs dans le sud de l'Italie, les Croates en Molise, les Provençaux, les Friouliens et les Sardes, les Cimbres et les germanophones et slovénophones dans le Frioul et en Carnia, ainsi que les Ladins de la province de Belluno — attendent depuis plus de 50 ans d'être protégés en tant que minorités conformément à l'article 6 de la Constitution.
